A Slight Shift of Perspective

empathyHave you ever cleaned a countertop, a window pane or a stainless steel refrigerator?  Have you noticed that when you moved away from it, even just an inch or two, you saw that you had missed a spot or that there were streaks you didn’t see before?  The surface that you thought was perfectly cleaned looked quite different from a minutely different angle. The same thing happens with our thinking and decision-making process.

Decisions, Decisions

There are times when we think we have all the information we need and that we are on the right track; and then boom, we learn new information or hear an opposing view, and we realize that the best course of action is to make some changes. A slight shift of perspective often brings new light to a situation and can provide much needed guidance to us.

Since there is not a single “right” way to do anything, how will you know if you need to look at your own situation from a different angle? The truth is: you don’t. Some people waste time and energy looking at things from every possible angle while others jump in using their feelings as their guide.

The good news is that you can’t truly make a wrong decision.

Your life is a process and you are a work in progress. You are divinely complete and incomplete at the same time. When making decisions, breathe in and ask yourself, “Which decision is best for me”? Follow your inner guidance—and either explore more possibilities or choose to move forward. Whatever direction you choose is the right one for you right now. And not to worry…

There’s always tomorrow to make a new choice.

Now, that’s Powerful!

Excellent article. Life is all about perception not right or wrong. If only everyone understood that concept the world would be a joyful place indeed.

    Hi Vicki,
I agree. Less judging and more allowing would make for a joyful co-existence!
