Does Your Business Still Move You?

When you started your business you were thrilled and excited by the amazing possibility that lay before you.  The plans, the projections, the partnerships, the autonomy, the freedom, the bliss, the prospect of clients flocking to you in droves and lots of money flowing to you continuously.  The potential for growth was staggering and there was no thought of less than stellar revenues and profits, and certainly no thought of failure.  Then you started doing the work and realized that the vision you had became a mirage and you found yourself plodding along on a treadmill to nowhere.

If this sounds familiar, it may be because you, like many entrepreneurs, have taken your eye off of the prize.

Or perhaps you have held the vision of the prize, the end result, so closely that you have forgotten to enjoy the journey.  In order to find joy and inspiration in your business, you must find fulfillment in the day-to-day activities. You must be nimble enough to keep your vivid vision alive at the same time that you are performing the most mundane of tasks.  The happiest and most successful entrepreneurs are not always the ones with the biggest, brightest vision of their company, but those who find the joy and beauty in the everyday process of growth. Allow yourself to be happily incomplete as you move forward, and you will find that your vision and your business will move you once again.  Now, that’s Powerful!

    Sue,

I love your expression “happily incomplete.” We Jungians believe in being able to live with the tension of “what is” and even the idea of “spiritual maturity.” I’m working on it.

It’s very challenging when we want something to happen and we do everything to make it so: the idea, the germination, the waiting and the waiting and the watching that pot to boil.

Yes, happy entrepreneurs know that the process must be enjoyed and be able to be a little like sea glass, get bounced around a little to arrive at the state where we look at ourself and say, now that is really beautiful.

    No wine before its time.
