Do you ever wonder how you can have a conversation with someone and walk away without really knowing much about them at all? You may even have spent a whole evening with them or a whole day, or maybe you even work with them 5 days a week – and yet, how much do you really know about them? And how much do they know about you? Do you share yourself? I don’t mean the topical, not so important stuff. I am talking about sharing the things that really matter to you.
Do You Share Your Heart and Soul?
So often we share time with others without really sharing our selves. Sure, we might share some of our day to day experiences with them, and they might share theirs in return. We might even offer some advice or guidance for them on their journey and receive some from them as well… but our deep down, straight from the gut, heartfelt feelings are so often in check.
Sharing Your Story Means Sharing Your Self
OK, I can feel the fear coming up and if this is new for you or if you’ve been hiding something important or special about yourself, then I understand how it might sound scary to share yourself with someone. And perhaps when you start to open up and share, it might feel weird or even nauseating for a while. But once you decide to do it, you will find that others will become more open with you in return. Having lifted your own inhibitions and put aside your fears you will serve as a positive example of truth and light for those around you. You will most likely find commiserates and even friends on your journey to openness. Mostly, you will find more of yourself in the process. When you open up to share your story and share your true self, you can be sure that life will open up to you.
