“Life is now. There was never a time when your life was not now,
nor will there ever be.” ~ Eckhart Tolle
Deadlines are looming and as you cross one thing off your to-do list, another item quickly replaces it. When you look at your to-do list, you know that there are more hours of to-do than there are in to-day. What’s a girl to do? (I couldn’t resist.) The answer is “Cut it out”. That’s right. Simply look at your list and ask this question, “If I had to cut one thing off of this list for now, which one would it be?” When you frame the question this way, you will easily recognize at least one item on your list that simply doesn’t need to be done right now. You will also find that there are things on your list that can be put off for one more day, a week or even a month. Your over-ambitious to-do list can, in all likelihood be pared down to a short list of “Must-Do’s”. These are those items that are most important to you and that have specific deadlines, consequences or rewards attached. You may also find that after a certain amount of time has passed, some of the items you cut never make it back to your to-do list at all. You will find that they weren’t as important as you once thought they were. Does this mean you’re an over-achiever and an impractical manager of time? Probably not. It simply means you needed a reminder to re-establish your boundaries, re-prioritize your time and re-think what’s truly important. Ahhh… that feels better, doesn’t it? Now, that’s Powerful!
Gratitude: I am grateful for my organizational abilities.
Intention: I focus on what’s truly important to me.
