Bite-Size is Better – For Snacks and Life’s Other Goodies

We’ve all been there!  In front of you, you have what could seem like an overwhelming task. It is huge in scope and may take days, weeks or even months to complete. You know you want it, because you hold the vision of its completion in your mind’s eye and you see yourself celebrating on the other side. But to get there feels like a humongous journey and the magnitude of the to-dos looms large. You can literally see the rest of your life fading away in the shadows. Your breath becomes shallow and you feel a flash coming on (no, it’s not inspiration… it’s perspiration!). What’s a Girl to do?

Chunk It Down

It’s like eating a candy bar. You don’t stuff the whole giant-size Snickers into your mouth at the same time. You eat it bite by bite. You savour each mouthful. You prepare for the next bite even as you are swallowing the one that is teasing your taste buds. And you enjoy each and every ooey-gooey mouthful along the way.

You might even choose to eat ¼ of it now, ¼ after dinner and save the rest for tomorrow. You might decide to share it with a friend, because you know that sharing makes the process even sweeter.

Or, you might choose to buy the snack size bars instead of one great big bar. Pre-portioning makes it not only more palatable, it makes it a no-brainer!

Make It Easy On Yourself

Look, whatever it takes to make your vision more doable, more enjoyable and ease-ier for you is a good thing.  Whether your vision includes getting six new clients in the next three months, redecorating your home, getting into your little black dress or enjoying a candy bar… you simply must chunk it down into bite-size, manageable, easy to swallow pieces. When you do this, the overwhelm will disappear and you can enjoy the entire process AND each and every bite along the way.
