As you move through each day, there are many moments of choice. In fact, your whole day is made up of choices. The question is, are you consciously choosing your course of action, or are you submitting to the whims and wishes of others without taking in to account your own needs and desires? For example, when someone unexpectedly asks for your time, do you automatically do whatever it is they ask, even when you are already quite busy? Or do you honor your self and your own priorities? In a situation like this, you may wish to take a deep breath before answering and decide if it is best to assist them or best to continue with your original plans.
No matter which decision you make, you may be stepping into your power or giving it away – it all depends on your feelings about it.
If you choose to assist them because you’d like to help out and you feel better about helping them than not helping them, then you are working with your power. If you choose to help them because you feel that ‘you have no choice’ and you feel angry or resentful about it, then you have just chosen to give your power away. Note this: they didn’t take your power, you gave it away. The key is to recognize when you have made a choice that engages your power or deflates it. How do you know if you have given your power away? It’s all about your feelings. Your feelings are your divine guidance system in action. To hold your power, always choose that which makes you feel good. It’s a no-nonsense, practical and supportive way to live as the powerful woman you were born to be.
Feel your power and choose wisely. Now, that’s Powerful!
